The best decision I ever made was to say “yes” to Jesus at age 10. At that time, little did I know that “yes” meant a lifelong adventure of learning to listen and follow the Creator. I have had the privilege of serving as Student Pastor at First Baptist for over twenty-five years. My wife, Carol, and I have two children and five grandchildren. I have degrees from Tennessee Technological University, the University of Tennessee, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Having spent a long career in electronics research has provided an interesting backdrop and perspective for doing ministry. I thank God for the great variety in my life. He has called me to proclaim Jesus in our community. I know without doubt, He expects me to run hard until He calls me home. I love every day and I love serving our community with my friends and the staff at First Baptist.
A few interesting things about me: I have studied classical guitar for over twenty-five years, I enjoy experimenting in my small garden, and I love learning new things.
My prayer for First Baptist is that all God’s sons and daughters on this block will embrace His command for us to corporately and individually make disciples of all the nations.
