Adult Book:
Operation Christmas Child: A Story of Simple Gifts
By: Franklin Graham
It was a simple idea that became the worldwide outreach of Operation Christmas Child - a project of Samaritan's Purse - to minister to children in war-torn and famine-stricken countries. As of the 2013 copyright of this book it was reported that in two previous decades it had inspired everyday people to provide more than 100 million gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children in more than 130 countries. This beautiful book weaves the moving, God-saturated story of the ministry's beginning with the soul stirring, Christ exalting stories of lives that have been forever changed by a simple shoebox.

The story of simple gifts is filled with full-color photos of children whose smiles helps tell us what is a thoroughly hopeful story. Samaritan's Purse President Franklin Graham provides insight as the incredible stories of life transformation are told.

Miracle in a Shoe Box: A Christmas Gift of Wonder
By: Franklin Graham with Estelle Condra
He saw their faces on TV. Homeless, hungry, and cold. Children just like him and his sister. When nine-year-old Jay saw those sad pictures, he knew he had to help the children in the war-torn country of Bosnia.

And he knew exactly how he could help.

"A group called Samaritan's Purse is going to send thousand and thousands of shoe boxes filled with toys and dolls and stuff on a big airplane to kids in other countries who don't have anything," Jay told his mother.

That was just the beginning. Soon his whole family and the entire Sunday School were filling shoe boxes, and other people in town wanted to help out, too. Before long, shoe boxes were piled high in the sanctuary and hundrends even stacked in the fellowship hall.

And far away in Bosnia, while the war raged on, a Christmas miracle had been set in motion. The miracle in a shoe box was on its way.
