The Power In The Blood

THOUGHT QUESTIONS:

1) In Exodus 11:4, why do you think the Lord said he would go out into Egypt at about midnight?

2) What does Exodus 11:8 indicate about the relationship between Pharaoh and the people of Egypt?

3) Why would God wait until the last plague to call on the Israelites to take specific steps to set themselves apart from the Egyptians or face the same threat as the Egyptians?

PERSONAL APPLICATION:

1) If a friend asked you about the fairness of the last plague, what would you say to them?

2) In Exodus 12:4-22, how much faith was required of the Israelites to follow God’s directions exactly as He prescribed them? How much faith does it take for a contemporary believer to follow God’s instructions for living? Can you think of a reason why it makes no sense to trust God?

3) In essence, God asked the Israelites to separate themselves from the Egyptians by sprinkling their doors with blood. In what ways does he ask contemporary believers to separate themselves from the non-believing culture?

WHAT I PLAN TO DO IN RESPONSE TO GOD’S TRUTH?

TWEETABLE THOUGHT

God’s plan to free (redeem and restore) His people from a fallen world requires that his people take steps to separate themselves from the world. His desire is that you then live free.
