THOUGHT QUESTIONS:

1) What significance is there in coming to meet God at Mount Sinai? Why didn’t God just meet them from within the cloud that led them? Where else has Mount Sinai been mentioned in the book of Exodus?

2) Why did God choose the Israelites as His chosen people, His holy nation rather than some other nation? Why did he invite them to participate rather than demand that they participate?

3) The Israelites answered that they would do all that the Lord had spoken? Why would they answer that way? Do you think there may have been some who did not accept the stipulations of the covenant?

PERSONAL APPLICATION:

1) The covenant at Sinai involved the whole congregation of Israel? Who is involved in the “new” covenant?

2) How often do you think of your relationship with God as being a covenant relationship?

3) What three words would you use to describe a church in which the individual believers took their covenant relationship seriously?
