WHEN GOD’S PATH CURVES
THOUGHT QUESTIONS:
1) In what way is Pharaoh’s response to the Lord’s identity and our culture’s response to the Lord’s identity the same or different? (ref. 5:2)
2) Is it possible to experience criticism from within God’s family for doing what God asked you to do? If so, should we abandon what God asked us to do in the first place? (ref. 5:20-21)
3) After Moses accused God in v.5:22-23, how would explain God’s patient response in v.6:1-8?
PERSONAL APPLICATION:
1) Have your ever felt like God got you involved in something and then abandoned you or changed the path at a critical moment? How would you advise someone who felt that way? Given the circumstances of this passage, how would you advise Moses about what he should do?
2) God called Moses to join him in rescuing the people of Israel. Moses reluctantly agreed. Does God still call people to join Him in His work? What might it mean if a person doesn’t sense God calling them to join Him in His work?
3)If serving God is the greatest calling, how can someone who responds to (is obedient to) God’s call in their life experience discouragement and/or rejection?
TWEETABLE THOUGHT
When God’s plan doesn’t follow your path, it is still God’s plan and his path.
